Trove Player

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Trove is a local-first product, and this website follows the same principle: we collect as little as possible, and nothing without you actively giving it to us. This page describes what actually happens to your data — no legal boilerplate hiding the ball.

What this website collects

  • Optional website analytics. PVUV loads only after you allow analytics. It uses first-party cookies, local storage and browser signals to measure public page visits, referral sources, engagement and performance, and to distinguish people from bots. We remove fragments, non-campaign query parameters, raw click and error text, file names, music, lyrics and tool inputs from reports. Mobile sensors, automatic download tracking and advertising features are off. Cloudflare still processes standard server logs, including IP addresses, to serve and secure the site. App Store buttons remain direct links to Apple.
  • Email: if you write to hello@troveplayer.com or feedback@troveplayer.com, Cloudflare forwards the message to our inbox. We see your address and what you write, and use them only to reply and to fix what you report.
  • No forms. Until 21 September 2026 this site had a feedback form and a product-news sign-up. Both are gone. Messages sent through the feedback form have been deleted. Addresses left on the sign-up list are kept for one purpose: telling those people about major releases, such as Trove arriving in a new region. No newsletters, no sharing, no selling.

On your first visit to the home page, your browser language selects a supported translation. If you choose a language, we save only that preference in your browser’s local storage so your choice takes priority on later visits. It is not used for tracking and is not sent to us.

Allow analytics and Decline analytics are equally available. Privacy choices lets you change your decision at any time; declining after consent clears analytics identifiers and reloads the page. We remember your choice for up to 180 days in local storage. Global Privacy Control keeps optional analytics off. Analytics does not run on preview hosts or unknown pages.

The free tools run in your browser

The tools on this site (such as the LRC Maker and Album Art Finder) run entirely in your browser. Audio files and lyrics you load are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to us. The Album Art Finder sends your search text directly from your browser to Apple's public iTunes Search API to find artwork; we never see or store those searches.

The Trove app

The app has its own, more detailed policy: Trove app privacy policy. The short version is that Trove is local-first — no account, no analytics, your library and passwords stay on your device, and your music files never pass through our servers. In Trove 1.5 and later, feedback you actively submit is sent over HTTPS through Cloudflare to our support inbox, with diagnostics only if you include them.

Your choices

You can request access to, or deletion of, anything you have sent us — a feedback report, an email, or your address on the old sign-up list — at any time by emailing hello@troveplayer.com. One email, and it's gone.

Terms of use

  • This website and its free tools are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Use them at your own discretion.
  • Album artwork and lyrics remain the property of their respective rights holders. The tools are intended for managing your own personal music library — you are responsible for how you use the output.
  • Trove Player is an independent project, not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Apple Inc. Apple, Mac, iPhone, iTunes and Apple Music are trademarks of Apple Inc.
